Practices, etc.

July 24, 2017

I’m looking forward to helping you complete your projects. In order to help the process work as smoothly as possible I’d like to share my business practices.

  1. Due to the nature of this work, with it’s many surprises and complexities, I bill my labor by the hour, and my current hourly charge is 45.00.
  2. Gathering materials for a job is one of my duties. I usually know exactly what I want and where to get it. I do not mark up on materials purchased at retail, but do charge my hourly fee and when driving on business charge the IRS rate of .57 per mile.
  3. If I rent a tool or hire a helper, those charges are indicated on the final bill with no markup.
  4. For jobs lasting longer than three days, I provide regular summaries of time and material costs.
  5.  On a weekly basis or when the work is completed, payment is due. Cash, check, Paypal, Apple Pay, and Zelle are acceptable forms of payment. At this time I do not have the means to accept credit cards.
  6. When payment is received I provide a written invoice and all relevant receipts. If I’ve used materials from my own supplies they will charged under Sundries on the final invoice. An emailed invoice can also be provided.
  7.  At certain times of the year I can be somewhat overwhelmed with inquiries, though I try to respond to everyone. One of the reasons I prefer texting, aside from its brevity, is that my cell provider sometimes doesn’t forward voice mails for hours or even days.

Thank you very much, and let’s get started.
